Chavez Posturing

Polititions of the US started the name calling long before the UN incident. The brother of the president of the US,the governor of Florida, publicly called Chavez "crazy".Chavez is posturing in order to appeal to the people who find his position attractive. This is the same politics played by George Bush and many other polititions, many times, many years. When the US refused to honor its commitment(to please worldcorp oil)of supplying spare parts for the fighter jets bought by Venezuala from the US,it marked a sharp turning point in rapport between the two countries. This greatly reduced the likelihood of friendly relations with Venezuala. It was not over democracy. It was about venezuala reversing the unholy hold worldcorp had on venezualas natural resources. The people of Venezuala are actually sharing in the wealth of its oil exports, instead of the oil corporations taking most of it.This did not please worldcorp,so they had the government, which they have paid for, threaten and cheat the government of Venezuala. The basic differences remain serious. They are the same differences that most of the worlds countries have with the US.We have become a battering ram for unfettered capitalism and the worlds richest, who own worldcorp, over the objections of the peoples of every nation of the world. The applause from the UN members, over Chavezes words, was not a fluke, or a bunch of uncouth rowdies to be ignored. It is unusual that worldcorp lets that very large voice be heard in the US.I suppose our leaders expect us to think they're all "crazy" too,so when it gets loud enough we can preemptivly kill them all.Under the present circumstances there is little hope for a just, peaceful hemisphere, much less the world.Elections in the US are bought by the rich of the entire world, through their corporations. The rich get at least two votes each. One through their corporation, the other private. Some of the rich have millions of votes because they provide the money to warp the truth, kill the truth and ruin private lives,to gain votes.NPUBLICI

Iraq War

There is little sense in firing Donald Rumsfeld. He merely represents the philosophy of most of the republicans in power. He obviously believes in the privatization of most governmental functions, including most,if not all, of the military. The current republican tactics for pursueing the purposes of worldcorp and the rich are;fight a war on borrowed money instead of taxing, pushing the debt ever forward to future generations, reducing government exposure to war damage claims through the VA,by using as many civilians as possible, fattening large corporations and disenfranchising the civilians.(when one goes overseas to work,American laws and rights are few and weak, even when working for a corporation calling itsself American.)These are similar tactics to those used during the Vietnam war;insulating and isolating most of the American people from a war which could not be fought otherwise. The working class people sacrifice the most in the deaths and maiming of their daughters and sons.Only when a few of the children of the elite were in danger of being drafted by a lottery draft system, was there enough pressure to stop the Vietnam war. Most of the time "the chosen"were placed in units where it was known for sure they wouldn't see combat in a hundred years;such as the units our recent presidents were assigned to.Also,to hold costs down and to insulate and isolate the American people,we are running a skeleton crew military, after the style of big box worldcorp,in business applications. As for being equipped, The US army has never had anything but a few small units which were actually fully equipped with all they needed of the latest and greatest.Furthermore, any officer who is making a career of the military will rarely be foolish enough to contradict a civilian over him.During my training in the US army I was instructed that it takes a whole lot more troops and equipment to hold ground, than it does to take it.I was reminded that Gengis Khan,Alexander,Hittler, the Romans and others had discovered this and that the truth hadn't changed.I seriously doubt that just because the republicans want to fight a war on the cheap, that this long proven truth has changed. There are many half truths, outright lies and semantical statements involved in hiding the actual true monetary cost of the war.I fully expect the eventual published cost of Afganistan and Iraq to be more than three trillion dollars. The hidden costs will take it much higher. As in the Vietnam war,the costs in human misery are great and lengthy.Physical and emotional damage will span generations.Physcological and chemical damage has already reached to the grandchildren of Vietnam veterans.NPUBLICI

Hispanic Racism

I have heard insulting statements from many people directed at those of us who oppose illegal immigration.U.S. citizens who want their government to enforce the laws which have been put in place by their representative government are being called all sorts of vulgar names, including racist. It is being stated by national and state government officials, corporate heads, organizational leaders, journalists and sundry others, that people opposing illegal immigration are racists.Quite often the reverse is actually true. If you are pushing for your own race, who are illegal, over the objections of citizens who want their laws enforced, you are a racist. This has already been well established during the struggle for civil rights for African-American citizens. The white 'good old boys",who sat comfortably on their front porches, and would have never hurt any one,but still felt justified in many acts of discrimination against black people were found to be racists and are still thought of as racists. The subtle and insidious come greatly into play in this type of warfare, during this latest quest for cheap labor, at any cost, borne by working Americans.I believe that people of distinct races, such as Mel Martinez, who represent the interests of their race instead of the interests of the working people who elected them, are racists. As surely as the "good old boys were, and are,so,also, they are racists.NPUBLICI
